solo

‘solo’ links the kinetic to the cosmic. The exhibited works are part of a research into theories of origins, and by extension the dialogue between spirituality and science, information and superstition, and natural and supernatural forces. The two main works, ‘Ω’ and ‘s’, contemplate of the infinity of the universe and the forces that govern it.

Ω

work in progress

'Ω' is a series of artworks contemplating cosmic folds and reflections through a series of simple tessellations of the two-dimensional grid and its transpositions into complex three-dimensional patterns. This language of abstract geometric forms is inspired by the surface of the grid and the process of folding and knotting.

The 'Spin' project is a series of enamelled polymer spinning tops.

The title 'S' is the first letter of the word 'spin' and refers to the unit of entropy. Both terms allow us to connect the macroscopic level of the univers
e with the microscopic level of elementary particles.

ALTEREDOBJECTS

Project for The Skate Room Brussels Edition. The project returns the board its function as a medium to enable movement. A pattern of holes allowing to reposition the wheel axis pushes the board to the limits of its functionality.
